Imagine if Golden Lane Estate was green, resilient to climate change and had plans to achieve net zero carbon. Imagine a different way of living and working in Golden Lane….

This resident-led project has a vision for Golden Lane. The first stage in changing the estate is the Golden Lane Bike Project designed to seriously increase the quality and quantity of safe cycle storage on the estate. The project has recently received funding and planning permission has been granted. Full details of the work to date can be found in this section. Here is a list of meeting arranged over the summer. Fann Street Green Space Enhancements
Last year the City of London Corporation’s Environmental Resilience team presented ideas to increase greening on the edge of the estate by Fann Street. Designed to enhance biodiversity, four proposals were presented. Following a second consultation residents agreed that the best approach was to create a green screen which utilises smaller trees and mixed native hedging to create a screen, with flower rich perennial planting to create layers of wildlife friendly planting. A progressed series of concepts and designs will be presented by the appointed landscape architects and the Environmental Resilience team. The Environmental Resilience team is delivering the Cool Streets and Greening Programme as part of the City Corporation’s Climate Action Strategy.
